•        What Can I Hear?           

I can hear the highway from my window

I can hear the sound of captain america playing in the background 

I hear as my brother types on his computer 

And how i hear my dad snore as he takes a nap 

I hear the man yelling from downstairs 

And the cars on my street outside my house

Things use to be so much better back then

Heart poem response 

In the poem “ Photography” by the poet, James Metcalfe, is about 

how photography should really be looked upon. Not just as a talentless 

press of a button but it means more to it, there is an art to it. This poem 

really shows this by going in depth and showing you how photography is 

really supposed to be. 

In the poem the poet really shows how photography is a true art. He 

doesnt just say it though, he goes into details. For instance he describes 

them as a memory by writing, “ It is a kindly greeting and A memory to 

hold. Of happy times and pleasant things. However new or old.” They do 

not say it directly but they are saying that the photo is like a memory. 

“It is a faithful portrait The smile that friendship shares To add its sunshine 

and to show That someone really cares.” 

In the poem photography they describe a photo is that you put on the wall 

or keep on your desk, it is a faithful portrait. “ The smile that friendship 

shares To add its sunshine and to show That someone really cares.” This 

poem can really connect to me because I love photography. I love to take 

photos, I love to look at them, and seeing a poem like this after people 

telling me that photography is not a true skill, after seeing this makes me 

feel better about having a feeling about photography. 

In the poem they really show a true meaning behind photography and 

show that  it is more than just taking pictures. It is an art and it make 

myself feel better about the talent because I now see that it has a big 

meaning to it, not just taking a picture, It’s an art

ELA in class reading responce

    One of the problems of life today is dealing with other peoples problems when you still have your own problems to worry about. In the book, Teen angst? Naaah...  By Ned Vizzini. The main character of the book, Ned, is a high school boy with normal teenager problems. And as a result most of these he handle on his own double up on working with other peoples problems.

    Ned deals with a lot of problems. And even gets in trouble for them sometimes. Lets jump to his highschool years. Ned has many friends in highschool and most of hem are sort of the, "party-ish" tpe of people. He is too just not as much as his friends. One problem he had dealt with was coming home drunk to only have his father find out. He wasn't mad but he wasn't happy either. All of this happened from pier pressure. One of his friends convinced him to buy some beer with his student i.d. Turns out they got away with it and got drunk and stayed long after dark. Ned came home and his dad noticed something was fishy. He didn't get in sp much trouble but his dad noticed. On page 115, Neds dad walks in on and says, "Ned, Ned, Ned. Look at you. Do you want the spanish inquisition in here? You better start acting a little sobriety or your mother will put two and two together."

    But it is not all bad. he and his friends do work together sometimes, but put most of the heat on him. Ned and his friends want to go on the senior trip together so they could all go on it together and pay for it too. But of course, Neds mom will not allow it. So ned lies and say that he is going to is friends country house for a week. And his moms believes in him. But ned then remembers he has to be jesus in a church play. So he has to go to that too. So he calls his friends to see when cancun is. Unfortunatly for him cancun is on the first day. "Dude, I don't know how, but you need to get out of that. If you don't make it on this trip, we are all screwed. Me josh and alex will all have to pay more money and will personally kill you." Neds mom still said no and he never went.

    And as for his own problems, it's problems are mostly about life. Like highschool and middle school. And getting into college. On page 21 he got into the high school he wanted which was stuy. But more problems then accur in college. He did his SAT's and got an interview for harvard. He went but he was really late, "there must have been a moment where i kissed the big schools good bye."

    This text connects to the world because most of these prolems are due to pier pressure. and pier pressure is a big conflict in society today. And it makes me wonder if it is all really worth it. Worth the conflict just so you could be like the others.

This book was inspired by many social issues. The most important of the bunch is bullying. Bullying is a problem in many places. These places could be in schools, over the internet and people arent even trying to stop it anymore. And it is affecting many people.

I chose this topic because i really care about it. I think bullying is just terrible and needs to be stopped. I know many people who are bullied and have been bullied in the past and it is not fun. I have not had many personal experiences with bullying but i feel bad for the ones who have felt these terrible feelings.

I want the readers to feel like they could make a change by reading this book. Stand up for others. Do not just sit there and watch things happen. Try to stop them. Be the hero.

Synthesis Page: Is it fair or not fair?

                I am reading the book called, Ready Player One, by Ernest Cline.

I don't really think this book is fair, life is just really hard for Wade. First off the start of the book. We start off with and introduction of this character. His parents are dead and his lives with an ungrateful aunt who who pays no attention to wade and is just terrible to him. Just from the start of the book things seem bad. Fast forward a little bit. The main objective of this book is to find the three keys to these three gates. And if you beat all of the gates you win the competition and get a prize in real life. no body knows what it is and or who will win this prize. You have to beat it. So right after he has cleared the first gate. Wade meats this girl named, Art3mis. art3mis is  wades long lost cyber crush. But things dont turn out too good for them. Wade got his dream of hanging out with her. They even dated, i guess you could say. But everything gets ruined when Art3mis "breaks up" with him. They were invite to a dance together. Everything was going great. Wade felt his love towards art3mis but things didn't look that way towards the other side. Art3mis didn't love him. she didn't even know him in real life( page 187). Then there are the sixers. They found out who wade is in real life and found out where he lives. They asked him how to get the key or they will kill him. Wade did not agree and then because of this they blew up his house and killed his aunt. All because he did not tell him where to get the first key. Shortly after they found it and went through the first gate. And thirdly there is his friend aech. Aech is wades best friend and before aech cleared the first gate, he needed help from wade. Later in the book they had a fight and Aech was saying things that were not true but then wade went and said that he wouldnt have ever cleared the first gate without him. Then aech became pissed off and didn't now what to say so they were mad at each other for a long amount of time. Life just seems really dificult. He is in the iddle of a life or death contest and he is losing friends and family because of it.
