Some may say violence is not the answer. But the kids in the book, "Lord Of The Flies" might just think differently. The lord of the flies is a book about children who have gotten stranded on an island with no adult supervision. The kids get crazy with power and ignore the reality outside of the island and think they do not need adults. Well violence breaks out and two kids get killed and it is tragic and it may lead parents to think that their kids shouldn't be reading books like these. Parents do not approve of violence so that is a easy answer why lord of the flies might be banned from schools.
One important observation that supports my focus in the book is, one of the main character dies at the end of the book from other kids pelting hi with rocks and making him fall to his death.
They then go to kill the main character but he got away in time to not get killed by jack (the main antagonist in the book.) This happens n page 181 and i quote, "The rock struck piggy a glancing blow from chin to knee ; the conch exploded into thousands of white fragments and ceased to exist. Piggy said nothing with no time for even a grunt, traveled through the air sideways from the rock turning over as he went. The rock bounded twice and was lost in the forest piggy fell forty feet and landed on his back on a red rock in sea. His head opened and stuff came out and turned red." This quote shows that parents would not want their kids to visualize this and be consuming these terrible thoughts and thinking of kids killing each other.
Another important observation i have made in the book is that parents may not like the way jack treats others in the book. Jack is a very violent boy and not having adults around is not helping. He thinks he can do whatever he wants just because no one can stop him. He has gone crazy with power and no one questions him on his power because they are too scared. On page 51 Jack keeps on repeating "we need meat." He was crazed and he needed to kill but Ralph insisted that they find a shelter but he kept repeating we need meat. He was going crazy.
The last important observation I found that parents may find disturbing for children is when Jack and his group of hunters go hunting and find a group of pigs and just went crazy. They went on a killing spree. He was tackling them and it was just horrible he killed them all and there was nothing the little pigs could do. Parents wouldn't want their kids to see this because it could really leave kids with some really scary thoughts and they would not want their kids to see these types of things.
This text could relate with the world because it really shows just how crazy someone can get when they go crazy. You do not want to be put in this type of situation. People can just go crazy and think they are the boss. Then people get too scared to question them. You should feel that you shouldn't really ban this book you should learn from it. Learn to not be like the kids in the book. That is what you should learn from this.
